Dwoskin says that creative writers are in demand in the burgeoning role of conversation designer for the next generation of chatbots, voice assistants, and digital avatars. Dwoskin mentions Botanic Technologies, alongside other names like Siri, Cortana, IDAvatars, Alexa, and others, as an industry leader tackling challenges in creating personality and conversation. She found that, “writers and designers said the trickiest question they wrestle with is how human a bot can — and should — sound.”

Dwoskin quoted Mark Stephen Meadows, founder and CEO of Botanic Technologies. “When software can talk and is personified, it opens up a Pandora’s box of human behavior.”
